Why does the Moon seem to move with us?

If we look at the Moon when we walk outdoors at night, it seems to be moving with us. In fact, the Moon moves much faster than we do. But, because it is so far away, it appears to move at the same speed.
To appreciate its real change of position we would have to cover distances so great that we would need to travel in a space ship. So the appearance or the Moon moving with us is just an illusion.
